Ember

High fantasy setting - a kingdom sundered by chaos, magic, and dragons. A young knight must save his lost friend and would-be steed, one way or another.

2013 - 2016. This was an old passion project that never made it off the ground. A great learning experience and personal failure that continues to gnaw at me. I'd like to write a post-mortem and share this story someday. For now, here's some of the concepts, designs, models, and sketches.

Frost Dragon
Sketches for possible saddle configuration. The wings continues along the length of his body, so the straps have no where to go. Some of the ideas we're exploring includes punching holes through the wings, bolting to the hide, hooking around prominent spikes on his back, or mounting the saddle at a young age then allowing the scales to grow over it.

Scale test. The original design was grander, but I wanted to sky and background to be visible so the height was lowered and walls replaced by a colonnade.
